David Z. Jacobs, of Winona, died last Thursday in Brantford General Hospital in his 87th year.

Born at Blackheath, a son of the late Hamilton and Annie (Grassies) Jacobs, on July 9, 1865, he had farmed all his life in the Blackheath area until retiring some 25 years ago.

He was a member of Winona United Church, of which he was the oldest elder. His wife predeceased him in 1947.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. David C. Thompson, of Grimsby, and Mrs. Milan Krick, Brantford; also two brothers, Robert, of Grassies, and George, of Dauphin, Manitoba; and two sisters, Mrs. Edward Travis and Mrs. Elmer Hildreth, both of Vinemount. He also leaves two grandchildren.

Services were conducted on Monday afternoon by Rev. Duncan Foster, with interment in the family plot in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Spencer and Roland Merritt, Elmer and Roy Milmine, Horace Cocks and Horace Woodley.
