This company was under the command of Michael Farrell, son of Leslie G. and Mrs. Farrell, former Grimsby residents, and. a grandson of exâ€"Mayor and Mrs. Chas. T. Farrell. Our story last week about the apple box end and the "Edgar Alâ€" lan Fruit Farms", brings to light the information that there never was any such man a fruit grower in this district, but that this was the farm name used by Mr. E. H. Thomas for the shipping of his fruit, when he was the owner of the W. H. Pettit farm, now owned by Mrs. Ethelbert Merritt, No. 8 Highway west, opposite the Woolâ€" verton mountain. Mr. Price has played an active part in community affairs whereâ€" éver he has lived. A member of the Presbyterian Church, he held the position of elderâ€"of St. Andrew‘s Church while living in Welland and was for several years elected auditor. Mr. Price is now an elder of St. John‘s Presbyterian Church in Grimsby and is also a member of the Lions Club. Entering Bell Telephone service in 1899 as a night operator in Simcoe, Mr. Price was made manager of the company‘s office in Bowâ€" manville six years later. He served successively as manager in Barrie, Newmarket, Midland, Sudbury, Orangeville and Welland before ibeing appointed manager here in October, 1938. H. T. Stewart, of Toronto, has been appointed Bell Telephone manager for Grimsby and vicinity, succeeding Alexander C. Price, who will retire on pension shortly after 46 years‘ service with the company. Mr. Stewart, who will also supervise the company‘s offices in Winona and Beamsville, takes over his new duties July 3. Joining the staff of the Bell company in July, 1911, in Peterâ€" borough as a collector, Mr. Stewart filled various positions there before enlisting for service in the Great War. He rejoined the company in December, 1918, as chief clerk at Peterborough, and later held posiâ€" tions in Collingwood, Meaford and Orillia. In August, 1924, Mr. Stewart became manager at North Bay. Three years later he was transferred to the sales department in Toronto and, for the past 18 years, while holding various positions there, Mr. Stewart has acquired a wide knowâ€" ledge of the telephone business.
