Whoever had done it had carried a pair of tree pruners and had not missâ€" ed a vine in the vineyard, 17 rows, all told, with 40 vines to the row, had been destroyed. On going to investigate, he found that some one had deliberately gene to all the trees in the orchard that had been grafted to a new type of plum, the grafts having made a splendid growth, and had torn every one from the tree leaving them scattered over the orchard. Mr. Milmine‘s suspicions aroused by the strange spectacle, folâ€" lowed the tracks in the snow which led to a fine young vineyard that had just reached full l;earing. He was at a loss to account for the strange tracks between the rows. First they led to one side and then to the other, but when he examined the vines he found that every one had been cut off at the root. W. S. Milmine, real estate agent, had been commissioned by the holder of the mortgage on the farm to look after it and see that everything was kept in good shape on Monday, and had arranged with the tenant to this effect. Mr. Milmine received a teleâ€" phone message saying that some one had been on the premises and had. damaged the plum trees. ‘ There will be a meeting of the Grimsby Beach Home and School Club in the School Rooms on Friday afterâ€" noon, January l1th, at 3.30.
