The one car stopped but the one following was unable to halt. Constable James Wentworth has had a load taken off his mind since a cow, which he rescued from thieves has been claimed by a local farmer. The animal came into the officer's hands recently when he saw three boys leading it. As the officer neared, the miscreants took to their heels leaving the cow in the officer's charge.
