T A good crowd of both local and Beach residents turned out last Thursday night'to participate in the dance held by the Boy Scouts in the Finkle Hall. The bugle band march- ed down Park Road and through the Beach and then into the Hall where it was cheered and clapped by the many people present. Special music wasrprovided by Finkle’s Toronto or- chestra. and all present had a real good evening's entertainment and dancing and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Another dance will be held soon. GRIMSBY BEACH BREEZES J Metropolitan Life l The annual outing of the Metropoli- tan Life Insurance Company, Hamil- ton staff, was held last Thursday at GRIMSBY Beach. The party left by radial in the morning and spent a wonderful day in carrying out a large and varied programme including races and a hair-raising ball game between members of the different de- partments. Prizes were presented, to the winners, after which the younger people enoyed an hour's dancing at the Midway Hall. Special cars car- ried the tired but happy crowd home. Imperial Oil Company Ltd. Some six hundred members of the Imperial Oil Company, Toronto Of- tice, arrived last Wednesday morning on the Maccassa tpr their annual picnic. Races and sports ot various kinds, with a ball game between the ladies and men tor .which suitable prizes were presented made a real picnic programme. In the afternoon, dancing at the Midway Hall and boating and bathing at the beach made the day one of unreserved plea- sure. The tired but satisfied picnic- ers left for home on the 6.30 boat. Moonlight. a Big Success Over fitten hundred peo'ple 1zj Hamilton and Burlington took in the Wednesday night moonlight excursion run by the Canada Steamship Lines to GRIMSBY Beach. It was a bein- tiful night, and the Corona, lit up from how to stern looked like an ocean palace afloat. Two ot Cham- berlains orchestra with a tenor solo- ist had been engaged and on the Way over and back the young peopde found lots of fun and pleasure in dancing to the deliightful music. The boat stayed an hour at the Beach which gave the excnrtionists lots ot time to take in the dance halls and side shows. All on the trip had a very pleasant and happy time.
