She was taken down Sauurday evening, June 1, and died on the following Saturday, June 8, her birthday. _ She was born in Lockerby, Dumfrieshire, Sootland, on June 8, 1820 ; came to Canada with her father‘s family in 1834, being ten weeks in crossing, coming up the St. Lawrence on the old Durham boats, towed up along the shore, taking severâ€" al weeks longer, She settled in Nirg ara, Ont.. living there until she came to Grimsby in 1862, where she has lived ever since. _ Her sufferings were not great, her mind being perfectly clear, knowing those around her‘ up to about an hour before her death. There were present with her : her everâ€"faithâ€" ful daughter, Mrs, W. H. Nelles, and Mr. Nelles ; her son William, his wife and Duncan, and Mrs. Thos,. Rome.
