The water was driven up 20 feet further than it was ever known to come, undermining the bank and carryâ€" ing it away, â€"Osric Neal‘s boathouse was ‘completely destroyea and carried off. Messrs. Brodie and Fiteh‘s boathouse was smashed up and partly carried away, as was also Mr. D. Kerman‘s. ~The boats were saved. The planks were torn off the pier and swept away, and the embankment and foundation at the north end of the storeâ€" house considerably damaged. â€" Hand‘s boathouse was swept away, and the netâ€" reels smashed up. ‘The sight was grand and terrible, â€" ‘The water was lashed into a perfect fury by the wind, and struck the shore with a deafening roar. Fuesday afternoon and night the snow continued to fall, until almost a foot of it lay on the ground, more than has fallen at any one time during the past winter.
