- Full Text
Charles Evan Martin, widower of Florence A. Martin, passed away very suddenly on Monday evening at his home at Grimsby Beach.
The late Mr. Martin was born in Hamilton and was for a number of years in Alberta, coming to the Vineland district in 1912, where he had been a successful farmer, and was very well known. He retired this spring and his passing will come as a shock to his many friends. He was keenly interested in sports and prior to 1900 was captain of the Hamilton Tigers football team. The late Mr. Martin was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Jordan.
He was predeceased by the late Mrs. Martin in May 1949, and by a son, Pilot Officer Richard Charles Martin, RCAF. He is survived by one daughter, Florence E., at home, and one brother, Capt. John R. Martin, Vancouver.
