Elizabeth E. Martindale, a lifelong and respected resident of the community and widow of R.D. Johnson, passed away on Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.H. McNinch, 23 Elizabeth Street, in her 65th year.
The deceased lady was born in Caistor township on April 12, 1870, having spent her entire lifetime in this district. For the past few months she had been residing with her daughter.
Surviving are 4 daughters, Mrs. C.H. McNinch, Grimsby, Mrs. Irvin Pearson, Port Robinson, Mrs. N.E. Godden, Detroit, Mrs. Edwin Diebel, Buffalo, and one son, Thomas Chadbourne of Windsor; also one brother, Thomas Martindale of Hamilton, and three sisters, Mrs. Thomas Flood, Brantford, Mrs. George Coulter, Simcoe and Mrs. R.B.Warren, Attercliffe.
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon from 23 Elizabeth Street, Rev. I.B. Kaine officiating. Interment was made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Messrs. Leslie Wilcox, J. Grant, Edward Freshwater, Albert Dipper, Jack Hagar, Cecil Gowland.
