First Methodist church, Hamilton, was the scene on Thursday, October 30, of a pretty wedding, when Rev. Dr. Hughson united in marriage Florence, second daughter of Mrs. A.M. Cocks, and Cecil Bowslaugh, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Bowslaugh of Grimsby.

The bride was attractive in a frock of ivory duchess satin, embroidered and trimmed with pearls. Her veil was held in place by a coronet of pearls and orange blossoms. She wore a pearl necklace, and carried a bouquet of Ophelia roses and valley lily. The maid of honor, Miss Nora Cocks, was gowned in powder blue georgette, and Miss Queenie Bowslaugh, as bridesmaid, wore peach colored georgette. Their hats were alike, of black velvet, with touches of color to match their frocks. They also wore the gifts of the bridegroom, white gold bar pins. They carried bouquets of yellow chrysanthemums. Mr. Percy Cocks was best man. The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. W. Drake. Mr. Harry Allan played the wedding music. Mrs. Bowslaugh, mother of the groom, wore a frock of brown and sand canton crepe. She wore a hat of brown velvet, with touches of sand, and an ostrich feather. Mrs. Cocks, mother of the bride, wore a navy blue canton crepe, prettily trimmed in a contrasting color. Her hat was of charmeuse satin, fur trimmed. Mrs. Cocks and Mrs. Bowslaugh wore corsage bouquets of Sweetheart roses and valley lilies.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride's mother, which was decorated with white chrysanthemums and pink gladioli, when about 40 guests were present. The table was centered with the maid of honor's birthday cake, on which were 23 candles.

Mr. and Mrs. Bowslaugh left for Detroit and New York, and on their return will reside at Grimsby, in a house built by the groom's father as his gift to the groom. The bride travelled in a frock of peach colored crepe, with a grey velvet hat and brown wrap.

The bride's bouquet was caught by Miss Eliza Miller, who place it on the cenotaph, with the bouquet of the bride's mother, in memory of the bride's father, who fell in the Great War.

Guests were present from Toronto, Guelph and Grimsby.
