The death occurred at St. Joseph's hospital, Hamilton, on Saturday, July 19, 1924, of Reginald Ernest Alpin, aged 23 years and 9 days. The deceased who was a son of Mr. and Mrs. E.C.Alpin of Baker road, Grimsby East, was born in Newton Abbott, Devonshire, England, coming to Canada in 1913 and lived first at Montreal, then in Stratford, Muskoka and Grimsby, Mr. Alpin Sr. being engaged in golf course construction work, coming here to build the Deer Park links. Some 18 months ago they bought the Loucks farm and have been engaged in fruit growing since then. The funeral took place on Tuesday, July 22, to Queen's Lawn Cemetery, the Rev. J. Allan Ballard conducting the service. The pallbearers were Cecil Bowslaugh, Frank E. Little, M. McCallum, C. Ross, F. Russ and Bert Southey.
