An old and highly esteemed resident of St. Catharines passed to the great beyond on Monday afternoon in the person of Mrs. Harriet Wardell, widow of the late Solomon Wardell,in her 85th year. The deceased was born in Smithville and came to St. Catharines when the present Welland Canal was under construction. She is survived by one son, I.W. Wardell, of St. Catharines, one sister, Mrs. Catherine Terryberry of Grimsby, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon from the home of her son, 102 Niagara Street, St. Catharines.
