Description
- Full Text
Word was received by Howard Smith, of Winona, of the death a few days ago at Calgary, Alberta, of George MacDonald, a former resident of Winona. Some years ago Mr. MacDonald resided with his parents at H.G.&B. stop 85, and it was in honor of the family that MacDonald's curve received its name. The deceased, who succumbed about 10 days after an attack of pneumonia, will be remembered by the older residents as having been in the employ of E.D. Smith & Sons and C.P. Carpenter & Sons as telegraph operator and bookkeeper. About 15 years ago he removed to Western Canada, where he met with considerable success, and at the time of his death was holding an important position in Calgary.
