St. Catharines, Aug. 31 - William Carpenter, of Grimsby, was arrested at Lincoln jail door today by a Royal Mounted policeman from Toronto and taken back to Kingston penitentiary to serve the balance of a 12-year sentence for rape. Five and a half years ago Carpenter was sentenced here to 12 years. He was released a few months ago on parole, but on August 1 he was arrested on a charge preferred by a girl at Grimsby. The charge was reduced to common assault and he was given 30 days. But having violated his parole, he now forfeits 7 years of freedom.
