Description
- Full Text
Lincoln County lost a most valued citizen on Thursday night last when death claimed Richard Clark, O.B.E., of Merritton, in his 89th year. Deceased had only retired from public office on March 15th last, after 58 years of service as clerk-treasurer of The Paper Town. He was also for half a century Chief of the Fire Department and for many years was Superintendent of Water Works, Collector of water rates and Secretary of the Board of Education. A tremendous amount of work for one man to handle, but he did so and very capably. Throughout the province he was looked upon as an authority on Municipal Law and many clerks and municipalities consulted him on knotty points.
