On Thursday, May 3rd, a quiet wedding took place at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Grimsby, when the Rev. J.A. Ballard united in marriage Lillian Mather, second eldest daughter of Joseph Lowel and Ellen Isabel Mather, of North Shields, England, to Fred Jewson, M.C., only son of the late Frederick Thomas and Ellen Jewson, of London, England. The bride was given in marriage by Mr. H. Jewson, of Grimsby, and attended by Miss Ethel Jewson, cousin of the bridegroom. The bride was dressed in a French blue Canton crepe dress, draped with black radium lace and gold ornament, and large black hat, carrying a bouquet of white carnations. Miss Jewson was prettily dressed in a navy crepe de chine dress with black hat, carrying a bouquet of carnations. After the ceremony, the bridegroom's uncle, Mr. M.H. Jewson, played the organ. A delightful dinner was provided by Mrs. H. Jewson, Fairview avenue. The bride is a graduate of the city hospital, Birmingham, England, and post-graduate of the Birmingham Maternity Hospital, England; serving during the war as sister in Queen Alexandria's Military Nursing Service, and since coming to Canada, has been at the New Infirmary Mountain San, with disabled soldiers. Mr. and Mrs. Jewson left for a short honeymoon, to points east, and will reside, on return, on Nelles road, Grimsby. The bridegroom was assisted by Mr. W.G. Gowan, Grimsby.
