The death of Mrs. Sarah Josephine Bridgman, wife of Milton Bridgman, occurred at her home, 3046 Granville street, Vancouver, B.C., on January 31. The deceased was 78 years of age, a native of Smithville, Ont., and had lived in Vancouver for 9 years. She leaves, besides her husband, one son and one daughter. The funeral was held on Friday, February 2nd, at 2 p.m. from the Mount Pleasant Undertaking Company's chapel to the Masonic plot at Mountain View cemetery, Rev. Dr. Mitchell officiating. Mrs. Bridgman, formerly Sarah Josephine Collard, was formerly a resident of Smithville and district, and was born on the farm now occupied by Wm. Collard, the homestead. She was a resident of Smithville section for about 60 years, afterward moving to Grimsby for 4 or 5 years and then to Vancouver. Many of the older residents of Smithville section will learn of her death with regret.
