Many old friends in Grimsby will learn with regret of the death at the home of her son in Burlington on Thursday, Jan. 25, 1923, of Mary Frances, widow of the late John Blair, in her 77th year, following a long illness. Mrs. Blair was born in the township of Louth, near Jordan, but had lived in Grimsby for many years, coming here in the early nineties, her husband being Grand Trunk agent. He predeceased her some 5 years. Surviving are three daughters and three sons: Mrs. C.H. Piper, of Hamilton; Mrs. Clarence A. Teeter, of Toronto; Mrs. C. Ernest Woolverton, of Grimsby; Henry J. Blair, of Burlington; James A. Blair, of Spokane, Wash., and Frank R. Blair, of Toronto. The funeral took place from the residence of her son, H.J. Blair, Hagar Avenue, Burlington, on Saturday, Jan. 27, to Queen's Lawn Cemetery, Grimsby, the Rev. Mr. Cook of Burlington conducting the service at the home and Rev. T. Ratcliffe of Grimsby at the graveside. The pall-bearers were three sons-in-law and three grandsons.
