The death occurred in Grimsby on Friday, Jan. 5, 1923, of Mrs. Susan Wismer, widow of the late ex-Reeve Solomon Wismer, in her 79th year. Her health had been none too good for some months, but on Tuesday she was stricken with pneumonia and succumbed on Friday morning. Mrs. Wismer was the daughter of John High, of Jordan, where she was married in 1866, but for the past 35 years had resided in Grimsby. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, Rolland, of Hamilton, and three daughters, Mrs. A. Jesse Snyder, of Cowley, Alberta; Mrs. Albert E. Phipps, of Grimsby; Mrs. W.P.S. Millward, of Hamilton, all of whom were present at her bedside. The funeral took place on Sunday, Jan.7, from her home on Elizabeth street; interment in the Jordan Cemetery, the Rev. Dr. A.J. Irwin of Grimsby Methodist Church conducting the services. The pallbearers were: Robert Carroll, John Kratz, Simeon Kratz, Joshua Wismer, Sandy Wismer, all nephews of deceased, and George High, a cousin.
