The death occurred in Grimsby on Saturday, Jan. 6, 1923 of Eugene LePage, aged 49 years and 3 months, from a prolonged attack of pneumonia. Mr. LePage was a carpenter, born on the Island of Guernsey, Channel Islands, where he served 11 years in the Royal Guernsey Engineers, and first-class marksmanship for 8 years in the same regiment, coming to Canada about 17 years ago. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. He was also a member of the 13th Royal Regiment of Hamilton, being one of the crack rifle shots of that organization. Surviving are Mrs. LePage and three grown up sons, Eugene, Alfred and Edward, and his mother in Guernsey; two brothers, Harry, in South Africa; Edward, in Edinburgh, Scotland. The funeral took place on Tuesday, Jan. 9, to St. Andrew's Anglican Church, the Rev. J. Allan Ballard being the officiating clergyman. The pallbearers were Felix Ferbrache, Beamsville; E. LeNoury, F. LeNoury, Harold Warwick, of Hamilton; Arthur Norton, Conrad Shafer, of Grimsby.

Correction appears in Grimsby Independent 7 March 1923: Mrs. Alice LePage wishes to correct an error that was made in The Independent of January 10, which stated that Mr. LePage died of pneumonia, while the real cause of his death was endocarditis.
