Algiva Lee Beamer, wife of J. Alonzo Beamer of North Grimsby, died at her home after a short illness on Friday, March 24, 1922 in her 67th year. Mrs. Beamer was born in Saltfleet near Stoney Creek in November 1855, her father being Jeremiah Lee, one of the pioneers of Saltfleet. Mrs. Beamer was the last of a family of ten, and her husband is her only surviving near relative. The funeral took place to Queen's Lawn Cemetery on Monday, March 27, the Rev. Dr. A.J. Irwin conducting the services. The pallbearers were G. Murray Beamer, J.J. Dean, Murray Gollan, A.W. Metcalfe, S. Pickett and W.A. Thomas.
