Alice Maude Konkle, wife of Aylmer E. Almas, of Hamilton, died in that city on Saturday, Oct. 1, 1921, aged 42 years. The late Mrs. Almas was born on the old Konkle estate, in North Grimsby, the daughter of John W. Konkle and Harriet Kent. She spent her earlier life in Grimsby, and about 20 years ago was married and went to Hamilton to live. She had been in ill health for some months, spending the past summer at the Beach. On Thursday last, she underwent an operation from which she did not rally. To mourn her demise are her husband and 14 year old daughter, Laura; her father and mother, four brothers and two sisters, William, Fred, Edgar and Roy, all of Hamilton, Mrs. Robert Gordon of Grimsby, and Mrs. Hattie Voltaman, of Hamilton. The funeral took place from her late home at 39 Wellington Street South, Hamilton on Tuesday, October 4th to Queen's Lawn Cemetery, Grimsby, the pallbearers being her four brothers and two cousins.
