On Tuesday, December 21, there died at Guelph an old resident of that district in the person of Elizabeth Catherine, wife of Hiram Swackhammer, aged 83 years. The deceased had not been in the best of health for some time and about a week ago suffered a stroke of paralysis. To mourn her loss she leaves besides her husband, six daughters and two sons. Robert Swackhammer of Grimsby is the eldest son, and this is the first break in the family. Mr. and Mrs. Swackhammer of Grimsby are in Guelph attending the funeral.
