Palmer Dilts, eldest son of the late Hiram Dilts, was born in the township of Gainsboro August 15th 1844, and died at his residence on Monday, Oct. 4th; burial was at Riverside Lawn Cemetery, Wellandport. Services were conducted at the house and grave by the Rev. Mr. Hannahson of St. Ann's. He leaves to mourn his loss his widow and one daughter, Mrs. Harry Earl; also one brother, Harmon, in Winnipeg, besides several relatives and friends. The pallbearers were six of his nephews, George Chard and Theodore Stevens of Cayuga, Oscar Misener of Dunnville, D. Dilts of Pelham Centre and William Julian of Port Dalhousie. He was for many years an active member of the Presbyterian Church at Wellandport. His sickness was long and painful but he bore it with patience to the end.
