Grandson of Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Palmer drowned while skating

Edgar Roseborough of Hamilton victim of thin ice on Hamilton Bay - body not yet recovered. Edgar Rosebrugh, son of Dr. F.A. Rosebrugh, 98 James Street South, broke through the ice on the north side of bay near Willow Point. About 3 o'clock, George Askew when looking out on the bay from his boathouse saw someone break through the ice and disappear. He promptly went to the scene but the body could not be found. He at once notified the police who quickly responded. They discovered a cap, but at that time could not identify it. Earlier in the afternoon, Edgar informed his father he was going skating on the bay, and mounting his bicycle, he rode away with his skates. His mother was spending the day in Grimsby with her parents, as she is wont to do on Saturdays...The boy was 15 years of age, and was in the second form at the Hamilton Collegiate...Edgar was well known in Grimsby as he has spent his holidays here every year since a child, with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Palmer, Patton Street...
