Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Curtis will be celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary on Thursday, Dec. 11, with an open house at their home at 3 Slessor Blvd., Apt. 304, in Grimsby. The couple will welcome guests from 2 until 4 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis knew each other as children in Denton, Manchester, England. After a year-long courtship, the couple were married at St. Lawrence Church in Denton on Saturday, Dec. 11, 1915. Mrs. Curtis recollects that the quiet, early-morning ceremony was blessed with bright sunshine. The couple moved to Canada in 1922, where they took up residence in Windsor, Ontario. After working for the Windsor Board of Education for 36 years, Mr. Curtis retired. The Curtises moved to Grimsby three years ago, near their only child, Mrs. Gertrude Louise Robins, of Beamsville. They have 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
