The death occurred in Grimsby on Friday, Jan. 13, 1921 [sic]of James Randall aged 57 years. The late Mr. Randall was born at Hornelsville, New York, the son of Jacob and Matilda Randall but came to Hamilton while still a boy over 40 years ago. In that city he learned the painting and decorating business and came to Grimsby nearly 20 years ago and started a business here. About four years ago he was attacked with rheumatism which prevented his carrying on business, and a year ago he suffered a stroke which had confined him to the house since. In 1906 he married Miss Annie Butler of Thamesville who survives. There are also one sister, Mrs. Edward Mayhew of Glencoe, and two brothers, Walter of Toronto and Lorenzo of Hamilton to mourn his death. The funeral took place from his late home on Depot Street on Monday, Jan. 16, the Rev. L.H. Currie, assisted by the Rev. J. Allan Ballard, conducted the services. Interment was in Queen's Lawn Cemetery and the pall bearers were: D.F. Allan, P. Carruthers, C.T. Farrell, T.E. Mannell, Thos. Stephen, Norman Walker. A number of relatives and friends from a distance attended including Mr. Butler of Flint, Mich., Mrs. Mayhew of Glencoe, Mr. and Mrs. Freel and Mr. and Mrs. Felker of Stoney Creek.
