North Grimsby lost one of its oldest and most highly respected citizens on Thursday last, in the person of Mr. Alexander Lawson, whose death took place at the home of his son, Mr. J.E. Lawson, on the top of the Grimsby mountain. Mr. Lawson moved to Grimsby from Gravenhurst with his son about five years ago, and was a man who was well-liked by all who made his acquaintance. The deceased gentleman was in his 84th year and leaves a loving wife and five children to mourn his loss. The children are; Mrs. Green of Edrans, Man.; Mrs. Frank Russ of North Grimsby; Mr. Leonard Lawson of Stratford; Mr. Frank Lawson of Verdar, Man.; and Mr. J.E. Lawson of Grimsby. The funeral took place to Queen's Lawn Cemetery on Sunday, January 2, and was largely attended. The Rev. A.I. Terryberry officiated at the services.
