Terryberry, Jacob and Terryberry, Margaret (née McCurdy) (Anniversary: 66)

Monday, June 25, 1888, will long be remembered by the relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Terryberry Sr. who met at the residence of their son, Mr. Robert Terryberry to offer good wishes and congratulations to the aged pair, who this year attain their 89th year and celebrate the 66th anniversary of their marriage. ... Only one person who witnessed the marriage was present on this happy anniversary, a brother of Mrs. Terryberry, Mr. Stuart McCurdy, of Norwich then but a boy of 10 years. Seven of the eight living children of Mr. and Mrs. Terryberry were present with those of their families now in Ontario. Mrs. Adam Beamer of Louth, the eldest daughter, bringing two great-grandchildren, two great-grandnieces were also present, Miss Maud Hare, Grimsby's charming songstress, who by her music and singing added much to the enjoyment of the guests and Mr. Isaac Durham's little granddaughter. ... Miss May Walker, a grand niece of Mrs. Terryberry ... Miss Belle Terryberry, a granddaughter sang ... It may be interesting to note the longevity of the families of Mr. and Mrs. Terryberry Sr., her mother, Mrs. McCurdy living to the age of 96, Mr. Terryberry's parents attained the age of 92 and 88 respectively living together 66 years. A sister of this Mrs. Terryberry married Mr. John Beamer Sr. and lived to the age of 96 and had she lived 4 months longer,their married life would have lasted 70 years ...
