A bright happy lovely young life passed out on Friday morning last, in Toronto General Hospital, in the person of Evelyn Catherine Wood, wife of Kenneth Griffith, principal of Grimsby Public School, after an illness of some duration. Deceased lady came to Grimsby in 1934 with her husband and baby daughter and during that span of 12 years endeared herself to all with whom she came in contact. She was born on Manitoulin Island, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wood, of Sault Ste. Marie. She was a valued member of Trinity United Church. She is survived by her husband and daughter, Evelyn, her parents and one brother, Roy Wood, of Sault Ste. Marie. Funeral services were conducted at the Stonehouse Funeral Home on Saturday evening by Rev. W. J. Watt, after which the remains were transferred to Sault Ste. Marie by CNR, where services were held on Monday afternoon from the Langstaff Funeral Home, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Casket bearers at Grimsby were Clayton Rahn, George Doucett, Robert Hyland, Robert C. Bourne, T.L. Dymond, and Wm. Stuart.
