Hugh Kneeshaw Whyte died Saturday at the Kilean Lodge after a long illness. He was 71. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Whyte, Mr. Whyte had lived in the Grimsby area since he was 18, with the exception of a 12 year stay in Florida. For the past 4 years he has been a resident of Kilean Lodge. He was the husband of the late Helen Gertrude Whyte (nee Pettit) who died in 1964. He is survived by a brother, Paul, of Scarboro, and a nephew, Harold, of Toronto. Before his retirement, he was asociated with Whyte and Jarvis Real Estate. During World War 1 he served with the Canadian Army Ordinance Corps in France. Funeral services will be held this afternoon in the Stonehouse-Whitcomb Funeral Chapel, the Rev. E.W.G. Worall officiating. Cremation will follow at Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
