Another bad accident happened on the Bell Telephone line on Saturday morning last at 10:30 when William Greenfield of Grimsby was killed while stringing wire at Beamsville. ... Greenfield was a Scotchman by birth and had only been in Canada about a year, coming to Grimsby in June of 1912 when he went to work for the Bell Telephone Company ...In August of last year he brought his wife and little boy out from the old country and rented a house from Mr. D.E. Swayze on Main Street West where he has resided since and from where the funeral took place. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon, the funeral cortege going from the house to St. Andrew's Church, where the simple but beautiful funeral service of the Church of England was conducted by the Rev. J. Allan Ballard. Interment took place in Queen's Lawn Cemetery, the Rev. Mr. Ballard officiating at the grave. The pallbearers were six of his late comrades on the Bell, Messrs. Geo. Cope, M. Hilts, G. Hilts, M. Pettit, K. McKay, and F. Franklin. ...
