After an illness of short duration, there passed away in Clinton Township, Sunday, one of the oldest residents in the person of Robert Konkle. Deceased was known throughout the whole Niagara Peninsula and was the last of a large family, who were the earliest settlers of this part of the country. He was a staunch Conservative all his life and took great interest in the welfare of the Orange Order. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church on the mountain and one of its most loyal supporters. A number of years ago deceased erected a sawmill on his farm and since that time has followed the lumber business extensively. The death of Mr. Konkle came as a shock to a large number of friends and relatives through out the community, for in spite of his advanced age of 73 years, he was hale and hearty until 2 weeks ago. The funeral takes place Tuesday afternoon.
