Full Text

Sad were the circumstances surrounding the death of Francis Arthur Sturch, who passed away at the home of his mother, Mrs. Alfred Sturch, Grimsby, a few days after his arrival from the North West, where he had been living since August, 1917. The boy, who was on his way home to see his mother was taken ill on the train with the dreaded "Flu" and so anxious was he to reach home that he kept pushing on instead of laying off by the way to receive medical care. He was very ill when he reached home and passed away in a few days at the age of 23 years and seven months. He was the only support of his mother, his younger brother being overseas. The funeral took place on Friday, Nov. 29th to Queen's Lawn Cemetery, the Rev. C.F. Noxon of Winona officiating on account of the illness of the Rev. J. Allan Ballard.
