Word had been received...that her husband, Corp. Charles Kinch, died of wounds at the 49th casualty clearing station, France. Corp. Kinch enlisted with the 85th Machine Gun Battery...Besides his wife he is survived by a child, his father and mother and 4 brothers. Corp. Kinch's brother was killed at Vimy Ridge in the month of April, 1917, and Mrs. Kinch's brother, Pte. D.Morrison, was killed in action in the battle of Paschendaele in November 1917. Another brother, Pte. W. Morrison was returned to Canada after serving in France for 9 months. Corp. Kinch's father and mother now live on the Jas. D. Biggar farm, west of Grimsby. The father is a returned man, having enlisted and gone Over There at the same time as his two sons did...He leaves a young wife and baby born one week before going overseas.
