- [Reprint of a lengthy article from October 1919] John Hewitt was the third son of Thomas Hewitt, and was born in Grimsby Township on October 23, 1842...[lengthy description of all his business ventures] Mr. Hewitt had been married twice: first in his early youth to Miss Fannie Rarey of Columbus, Ohio, who died about three years after their marriage; and he was married the second time to Miss McIntosh of Chicago, but formerly of Hamilton, Ont., and she predeceased him by about eight years. [John Hewitt died on October 9th, 1919.]
