Sgt. (W.A.G.) James L. Powell R.C.A.F. of Grimsby, was killed on active service overseas on October 14 and was buried in England on October 17, according to official notification received by his parents. Nineteen years of age, he was a son of L.W. Powell,at present working at Orangeville, N.Y., and Mrs. L.W. Powell, 33 St. Andrew's Avenue, Grimsby. A graduate of Grimsby High School, he enlisted in the R.C.A.F. early in 1943 and received his wireless air gunner's wing at No. 1 Bombing and Gunnery School, Jarvis, in January of this year, going overseas in April. He was a grandson of Mrs. James Stormont, of Grimsby.
