Cpl. Carman Hurst, 29, of Grimsby, son of Harvey Hurst and the late Mrs. Hurst was reported killed in action around Caen.

Born in Grimsby, he was employed at the Farrell basket factory at the time of his enlistment. He was married to the former Mary Bubersky, now of Hamilton, before proceeding overseas in July 1940.

Besides his father he leaves one brother, Pilot Officer Roy Hurst, D.F.C. and one sister, Mrs. William McInyre of Grimsby.
