On Christmas Day, 1883, William Bowman of North Grimsby Township, led Sarah Crosby, of the same township, to the altar, where the late Rev. James Murray, of the Presbyterian Church, tied the tie that binds, at the home of the bride's parents, on the Alway farm, Ridge Road west. That was 60 years ago and the happy couple celebrated their 60th anniversary on Christmas Day. Mr.Bowman has now reached the ripe old age of 84 years and his still smiling bride has attained her 76th birthday...They have four sons and three daughters living to help them enjoy the sunset of their life. They are Elmer, of Hespeler; Frank, of Clinton township; Ray, of Beamsville; Oscar, of North Grimsby; Mrs. Laura Sweet, North Grimsby; Mrs. Wilfred Fields, Clinton township. They have 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Bowman reside on the Grimsby Centre Road, east...
