This year the diiectors are doubling their ofi'iirts to make the Fair more attractive and instructive than ever. The prize list has been iiupiovid in the Agricultural, Horticural, Liye Stock and Poultry Departments, aud special attention is being directed to the llain Building, which will be supplied with ahslting, enabling exliibitor» to man'"facture goods in view of the public, thus proving a source of instruction aud entertainment. They have also an-angcd few several special exhibits irom the Agricultural Farms of the Dominion, Ontario Manitoba and North West Governments, and the Indians of Ontario." but one that vvill be more interesting [erhaps, iwiug to its rarity (not having been shown in â- Canada before), is that of the Soutnern luter- States Immigrisiion Bueau, rejn'esentiag 1-1 •?f the United States. This exhibit consists of growing cotsion figs as they ;grow on the bush rice s,s it grows in the jelds t f the Carolinas peanuts as they are taken from the ground in Virginia; products of the turpentine stills of tieorgia carpets made numerous instructive specimens. London is the only place they exhibit in Canada. The speed programme for the horse ring has been greatly increased, making it the best they hve ever jet afforded, which will insure a large attendance of the best horses in Canada. The special attraction committee have been alive to the public demand for this branch of their enjoyment, and have already secured some of the best drawing attractions of the age, to he had for money, such as the famous Wild West Show, Balloon Races and. Par- achute DeKcents, bplendid Fire-works, the International Bench Show of Dogs, etc., and are diligently corresponding for others, so that the public may expect a treat the equal of which hus not j et been their good fortune to witness. It is desirable that these fairs should be maintained for the good of all clas- ses, but especially the farming community, as they afford an opportunity of seemg many improvements in farm machinery, better classes of stock, and field and garden prodncts. Don't forget the dates oj the London Fair. and go to it. The Secretarj Mr. Thoa A. Browne, will be pleased to answer any r- rtspondence. Walter'is Falls. "Epistolarvm Commercium." A football match betweeu Meaford and Walter's Falls was played on Friday last on the grounds of the Central Agricultural Society. The game r^^sulted in an easy victory for the hoa e team. The time agreed upon lor playing was one hour, but after about three .quarters of an hours play, in which time the "Dauntless" scored 3 goals against 0, the Meaford 'boys decided that they had had enough of it and the game came to a close.
