A Child Accidentally Shot. Toronto, May 8th. â€" A most distressing accident occurred at noon the other day when four-year-old Jennie Long, who resides wi^li her parents at 113 Duke street, was shot in the face. Ernest Stephens, a Royal Grenadier recruit, boards with the family and left his rifle loaded with a blank cart- ridge in his room. The child was sent to call him to dinner, and noticing the firearm picked it up. Stephens attempted to take it from her, and in the scuffle the gun was discharged, the powder lodging in the child's face and eyes. Dr. Ghent was called in, but cannot as yet say whether the eyes have been destroyed. specific â€" Dr. Sage's Catarrh stands, united it falls â€" the Jitter be good than great. *•» competition.
