A vigorous effort is being made to have the addition to the Agricultural Hall built yet, before the 4th pros. The frost wrought immense damage in the surrounding country. Wheat and oats, being nearly ripe, suflfered very severely. A large quantity of of oats will only be fit for feed, and a great deal of the wheat is not worth threshins:. Durham. The re- pairs were made none to soon, as the butments, the filling up of which was done by contract were filled with dirt at the bottom instead of 8tone;and the span being too great the bridge also sagged in the middle. â€" Chronicle, The ITEethodist Conference. SPECIALTY, STARTLING DISCOVERY! LOST MANHOOD BE 8T9R ED; Belleville, Sep 18 â€" An unsuccessful attempt was made to-day toextend the limit of a minister's stay in a circuit from three to four or five years. No minister can return to a circuit after less than six years absence. A resolu- tion was adopted to make circulating of methodist literature by ministers obligatory. The conference special ccmittee is to make the needful ar rangements for the celebration of the centenary of the estabUshment of methodism in America. It was re- solved that each annual conference shall hayo a contingent fund of its own to relieve cases of special afflictibn and assist poor circuits. A long conver- sation ensued on the subject of minist- ers being connected with trading com- panies or boards for the investment of funds, which ended in a resolution being adopted prohibiting all ministers being so.employed. The temperance report adopted, recommends every encouragemeat to temperance organi- zations. AGRICULTURAL EHlBITIONS South Gret. At Durham, Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 2.5th and 26th, Pboviucial.
