A. met at the home of Mrs. R. Ellis, when 19 were present. Ar- rangements were made to place flowers in the church and other items pertaining to the reopening of the church. Mrs. J. L. Abercrombie sj)ent the week end with Mrs. S. S. Burritt and Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Graham, and also attended the funeral on Saturday of Mr. Ed-ward Baker. She was accom- panied by Mr. and Mrs. Earl Francis and children, who also visited in Mea- ford with Mr. and Mrs. E. Smart. Quite a large number from Kim- berley attended the funeral of the late Edward Baker on Saturday. We extend our syntpathy to Mrs. Baker and family. We are sorry to learn of the death of Mr. J. Durstine of Elm-wood, who was known and well -espected by a number of Kimberley friends. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Lawrence spent Sunday with Mrs. J. Lawrence. Miss Mary Haines was appointed Supt. of Mite Boxes and Missionary Givings at the W. A. meeting. Wednesday afternoon Rev. Dr. S. D. Gaudin visited Mrs. S. S. Burritt. He also visited the school where he taught for live years 60 years ago. It was in the old school of one room and an attendance of over 80, and he also visited the church, where he had served as Superintendent and teacher in the Sunday School, the choir and other services of the church, before going into the ministry as a mission- ary anioijg the Cree Indians, where he served for 44 years. Kimberley friends were delighted to have him visit them. He has travelled alone from Winnipeg to Toronto. Flesher- ton and Moncton. X.B.. where he visited his two daughters, and is now returning to Winnipeg. Delhert has been eight months overseas and is feeling fine and glad to be home. He volunteer- ed for Pacific service. Jimmie Fawcett of Owen Sound is visiting Ms cousin, Roy Faw\;ett. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Martin received a telegram Sunday from Cpl. W. A. Martin, R.C.A.F., who was on board the S. S. Louis Pasteur, which docked at Quebec City Saturday night. It stated that he was feeling fine and would be home sojjn. The Pasteur was a little over five days crossing the Atlantic. He w^ill arrive in To- ronto th* early part of this week en- route to his home here. He has been overseas since June, 1943. Miss Lillian Magee of Toronto was home over the week end. Miss Ilene Sloan of Chatham, who is spending a fortnight with her grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Walker Sloan, Flesherton. visited at the Proctor home. Mr. Thos. Stewart of Toronto spent the week end at his home here. Gor- don Stewart was also home for a few days. Mis« Gayle Genoe has returned home from Wasaga Beach, w-here she has been assisting at Wasaga Lodge for the past .two months. Pte. Norman Cameron of the 4Sth Highland«rs, Toronto, has returned from overseas and is visiting- with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Magee, and family. We are pleased te report Norman feeling fine, after being wounded twice. He has been overseas for over four years. Mrs. Joe Little (nee Doris Magee) went to Toronto on Tuesday of last week and met her husband. Tpr. Joe Little, who was returning from over- seas. A reception was held for him a: his' home near Wareham on Mon- day night. The Magee families from here were in attendance.
