Miss Marjorie Park visited a couple of days with friends in the village. Mr. Thos. Stewart of Toronto visit- ed over the .week end with his wife iere. Mr. Gordon Stewart of the North- ern Transiport Co. is a frequent visit- or at his borne here. Mr. Dave Genoe and Miss Dorothy .accomipanied by Mrs. Davies, Toronto who spent the past week at the Gen- oe home, visited with Mr. and Mrs. C. llartin. Mr. Ted Shearer and Miss Kate Jamieson of Toronto visited one day last week with Mr. Genoe and Dorothy. Mr. McCarthy and Miss Mary JMcKee of Toronto are spending a fortnight with the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. McKee. Our profound sympathy is extended to the Hamilton family of Flesherton in the loss of their dearly beloved son and brother, Jim, whose untimely death was caused by being accident- ally killed when a truck in which he was riding got out of the control of the driver and overturned in a field. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Copejand and Kenneth, Miss Gladys Jamieson and Mr. Ivan Copeland visited Mrs. Joe Little and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Magee. We also extend deep sympathy to Mr. Jos. Field and relatives in the passing of his beloved wife. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Youn^ and two children of Sarnia are noliday- ing with Mrs. Young's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Duckett. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Lehman, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Annette and some other friends of Toronto were week end visitors with Mr. Jake Williams. Mr. Henry Tudor and daughter, Annie attended the funeral of the former's sister, Mrs. Jean Mann, of Walton, Ontario. We extend our sin- cere sympathy to the sorrowing re- latives. Mr. Thos. Tudor of Toronto spent a few days with his brother, Mr. Henry Tudor and family. Miss Gayle Gonoe has returned home from the Wasiiga Lodges at Wasaga Beach and her sister, Yvonr»e has taken her position there. Sorry to report Master Bill Phillips in Markdale Hospital suffering from injuries received when the Hydro truck overturned with the load of cement. We hope he will soon be well again. Mrs. Ernest Proctor has returned home from Markdale Hospital and is recuperating after her recent operat- ion. We wish her a speedy and com- plete recovery. Mr. Harry Forrester is imiproving the appearance of his residence by painting the exterior. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Kellar of Osh- awa and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Kellar of Bowmanville visited on Sunday at the home of Bert Magee. Miss Georgtna Smith has returned to Toronto after holidaying with friends here. Little Miss Jacqueline MacDonald of Chatsworth visited with her aunt, Mrs. Well Graham and other friends for a few days. CEYLON BUCKXNGHAM Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Hawkins, Detroit and Miss Dorothy Hawkins, Toronto are visiting relatives here. Mrs. 0. Mitchell, Gertrude and Bill- ie, left Saturday to spend a week with friends at Churchill near Barrie. Mrs. Em Davidson is sufficiently improved in health to return to Tor- onto with her daughter, Mrs. J. McLellan. Miss Evelyn Fisher of Portlaw spent a few days last week at the home of Alex Mullen. Mullin and Burton of Banks were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Alex Mullin on Sunday. Miss Ann Robison, R.N., visited last week with her aunt, Mrs. J. T. Davidson. Grant Muir who is now serving in France. Grant speaks of the friendly spirit shown to the Canadian soldiers by the French people. Harry Quigg and Abe Brooks of Harriston were recent vis- itors with Mrs. A. Stewart. The Priceville Young People took charge of the service in the United Church last Sunday evening. Mr. John Ritchie presided, the scripture peading was given by Miss Ekuma Meads, prayers were offered by Mrs. John Ritchie and Tom Mathers. A solo by Miss Jean Mather was much appreciated and a splendid address given by Mrs. Echardt made very plain the path of duty. We are very sorry there were not more of the Ceylon folk present at this service. Mrs. Douglas Reid and son Bobby, Mrs. Melville Hogarth and daughter, Mary were reicent visitors in Toronto. Mrs. C. A. Archibald was a recent visitor with friends at Dundalk and Shelburne. Newell and family at- tended the reception on Wednesday night near Durham for their nephew F. 0. Arthur Newell, who arrived home that day from overseas after three years service. The past two years where spent in operations in North Africa. P. 0. Newell went overseas in 1941 and took part in many operations over enemy terri- tory. A large crowd was present to wel- come P. O. Newell home again. A progrramme of speeches, songs and music was enjoyed, after which there was dancing on a platform erected in the open air. Music was supplied by the No. 9 Orchestra. After a furlough F. 0. NewelJ will report for duty to Toronto and will remain in Canada as an Instructor. Miss Osborne and friend of Owen Sound spent the week end with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Russell. Mr. Eddie White of Toronto spent the week end here. Miss Eunice Dabson has been suf- fering the last few days with a badly sprained ankle. Mrs. Laurie Smith and two child- ren of Toronto holidayed the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Wes Smith and family. We are glad to see Eleanor Palm- erson, CWA..C., paving leave with Kimberley friends. Mrs. S. S. Burritt received the sad news of an accident which befell the little daughter of Rev. H. E. and Mrs. Burritt of Brampton, on Highway 10. The little girl was hit and dragged by a car, breaking' her left leg and severely injuring her wrist, had three stitches in her forehead, six in the crown of hei- head, along with ser- ious body injuries. Mrs. G. Hutchinson and Milton of Flesherton visited on Sunday with Miss Mary Stafford. Ronald Lawrence is holidayig with his grandmother. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Betts and Janet of Flesherton, Mr. and Mrs. E. Alex- ander of Collingwood, Mr. and Mrs. Art Wardman and Miss M. Buzzy of Toronto and Pte. Ted Weber were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Weber. The W. A. met on Tuesday with 14 present. Mrs. D. A. Grahan resigned as secretary and Miss M. Stafford is acting until the end of the year.
