McLean of Toronto and •Mfss Maude Acheson of Primrose visited at the parental home Sunday. Miss Ina Acheson spent the week end in Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Dan. McCannell and family visited with Mr. and Mrs. Wes Dever on Sunday. The Y.P.S. held their meeting last week at the home of Art Jackson. The meetings are good and if you care to go the taxi will call for you. Mrs. Milton Bannon spent a few days fist week in Markdale hospital, but came home Thursday and is im- proving slowly. On Thursday evening February 21, the February meeting of the Proton W. I. vras held in the Orange Hall 3nd took the nature of a social even- ing. During the first part cards and Chinese checkers were enjoyed and then dancing to the splendid music of the Blackburn-White orchestra and also the Blakey orchestra. During the evening the lucky ticket on the quilt was drawn by little Betty Neilson and Mr. Dan McCannell was the lucky name read. A silver collection and a bounteous lunch were also features of the enjoyment. The W. I. hope to have more of these community social eveniegs in the near future. Mr. Wilfr«d Batchelor moved to the Sandiland farm last Tuesday. We welcome them to our community. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Walker are moving this week to the farm on the tliird line, Hatherton, vacated by Mr. iSid Mrs. Batchelor. We wish them success in their new home. Mr. 'and Mrs. Gilbert Little visited with Mr. and Mrs. Russel Whita on Sunday. Waveham young people |spent a very pleasant evening skating at the Dundalk arena Thursday last. Victor Osborne has returned home, after spending a month with Mr. Jack Badgerow near Rock Mills. Communion service at Mt. Zion on Sunday at 8 o'clock. Wallace is still in the hospital, but is making a good recovery from his operation. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hardy spent Sun- day with friends at Proton Station. The Ladies' Aid and W.M.S. met at the home of Mrs. Walter Knox on Wednesday. Twenty-nine ladies were present and a very enjoyable meeting was held. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Knox spent Sun- day at the home of 'Will Meads on the O.D.R. Mrs. Richard Hardy, who was oper- ated on in Wellesley hospital, Toron- to, is now at the home of her father, Mr. H. D. Tressider, and is doing as well as can be expected. Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Richardson en< tertained the Glee Club at their home on Friday evening, when an enjoyable time was spent by all present. VANDELEUR The February meeting of the Van- deleur Woman's Institute was held at the home of Mrs. H. Thompson on Thursday afternoon of last week, with a large attendance of members and visitors. The president, Mrs. Russel Freeman, presided over the business meeting and t^e roll call was answer- ed by telling the nationality you would like to be if you were not a Canadian. The program was in charge of Mrs. Lundy Johnston, convenor of the Department of Canadianization and consisted of a reading by Mrs. H. Hutchinson, and a paper by Mrs. L. Johnston. There were several sel- ections of music and a delicious luncheon was served. Miss Marion Boland and Miss Jessie Hunter of Mimico are visiting the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Boland. Mrs. Gordon Wyville visited her father, Mr. D. Pawcett, Woodhouse. the young people of the community had another successful skating party and dance on Thursday evening of last week. Neighbors and friends of this com- munity attended the funeral of the late Mr. Samuel Parks in Feversham on Tuesday of last week. Mr. Parks resided in this community all his life until moving to Collingwood a few years ago. His friends here regret his passing and extend their sympathy to his immediate family and relatives in their bereavement. Mr, Herb Taylor spent a recent week end with friends in Collingwood.
