McLean, t was our loss to have left shortly before they ar- rived. A bad accident which easily might have been worse, happened at H. B. McLean's stable, the floor of the mow above giving way with the weight of the hay, though more had been in it previous years. The heavy wind •of the night before, had perhaps strained the timbers. There were two cows in the stable that were to be milked in a few minutes. The tim- ber in falling landed on a post of the stall thus saving them, had the horses been in the adjoining stall they cer- tainly would have been killed. The who knew him. Church, and was very largely attended by friends and neighbors who came to pay their last tribute of respect to one who will be greatly missed in his home and community. Mrs. Bert is not gaining her strength, but is very poorly we are sorry to say. Mr. Cole is paying a short visit to his father-in-law, Mr. Thos. Mc- Dougall whom we were pleased to meet. Mrs. K. McKee, Toronto, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Everist, is vis- iting their home here. Mr. E. R. Clark, a native of Pal- grave, now of Teulon, Manitoba, call- ed upon a brother fox rancher, Mr. Harold Karstedt, from whom he pur- chased some fine stock some years ago, and was greatly interested in the ranch here and its furry occupants.
