Hopps of Colling- wood visited in the village Monday. They intend to move here if they can secure a house. We are sorry to report Miss Mary Hopper not enjoying very good health at present. Mrs. Park's health is somewhat improvett and we hope that both ladies will soon be well again. The work on the new pipe line is just about completed. A number I of men were laid off on Friday and only about a dozen were kept to com- plete the "finishing up," which will last a week or so. Rally Day was observed in the United Church on Sunday last. The service included an interesting ad- dress by the pastor, Rev. Bushell, who gave a review of the Sunday School movement of a century and a half, and Mrs. Chas. Martin, in the absence of the Superintendent, acted as leader and conducted an attractive pageant "Sunday School Visitors of Far Places." -Miss Georgina Smith was oragnist for the beautiful hjrmns chosen for the service. Miss Gertrude Lever, accompanied by Misses Macil and Dorothy Snell of Ceylon, were Sunday visitors with Mrs. C. Martin. Mrs. Morgan and son, Douglas, of Flesherton visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Smith and sister. Miss Georgina and Mrs. W. Graham over the week end. ^ Mr. and Mrs. W. Davies and daugh- ter, Miss Dorothy, of Toronto are visitors with .Mr. Jake Williams. Mrs. Emerson Parker and children of Rob Roy visited a few days recent- ly with her sister, Mrs. Ben Short. Congratulations to Mr. Everett Graham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Graham, who has taken as life part- ner, Miss Pearle Kathleen Sewell ot Euphrasia. We wish the young couple many happy and prosperous years of married life. Mrs. Kernaghan and nephew, Mr Brown, have returned home to To- ronto after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jamiesonr- address and a wonderful white quilt, centred with a wreath of pink roses. l^e quilt was designed and made by Mrs. Walter Ferguson of Mt. Forest, on behalf of the women of the riding, and bespoke their loyalty and their love and appreciation for Miss Mac- phail and her efforts in their behalf and women in general. Miss Mac- phail, deeply impressed, expressed her appreciation of their loving thoughts, and loyalty to her and out- lined at some length farm conditions, since she first entered Parliament, down to the present time. Refresh- ments were served at the close of a wonderfully happy afternoon. SAUGEEN JUNCTION FEVERSHAM PLANES AT CEYLON Mr. Dan Muir's farm at the Six Corners was the scene of a large and interested crowd of spectators on Wednesday of last week, when many took advantage of the visit of the airplanes to take to tht air. Flights were made steadily from early in the day and it was estimated that at least seventy-five people made trips in the machme. Threshing is nearly completed here for this season. The spring crops have yielded fine, e.xcept buckwheat and the early frost in September injured considerable of it. Fall wheat was badly winter killed. Hay crops were only fair, as the hard frost last winter killed out consider- able clover. Betts and daughters, Edith and Mabel, visited on Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hoy in Flesherton. 'Miss Ita Pedlar, who is employed in the House of Refuge at Markdale was taken suddenly ill on Tuesday last and her mothjfer went up to nurse her. Messrs. Will and Dorcey Simpson of Idaho and Jas. Russell and Sam Phillips spent Thursday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Newell and Miss Oliver. Little Lois Mclllmurray, seven year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Mclllmurray, won first prize for singing a solo at the Osprey School Fair. Lois has a beautiful voice and no doubt, with training, will be a fair singer some day. Con- gratulations, Lois. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Betts, Mr. Chas. Stafford, Miss Mabel Shier and Mr. Murray Fisher were among thtose from here who attended the Owen Sound fair on Saturday. Mr. J. A. Foster and family intend to open a grocery business here in the near future. It will be a great convenience to the .^urroanding neighborhood, especially in the winter months.
