Lockhart a former resi- dent of Proton Station, a brother of 'Mr. John Lockhart, died at his home near Bolton on June 10th. . Mr. Robert Rutherford of Oregon. with his sisters and brothers-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Graham of Portland . Oregon, and Mr. and Mrs. McAllister 4 of Durham vicinity were callers on Proton Station friends last Monday. The name of Rutherford will be rec- > ognized by old Protonites as that oi t the pioneer briekmakers of Proton Station, their father having establish- :_ ed the present brick yard away back I in the early 80's. Mr. and Mrs. John Moffat of New York are visiting with John's parents Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Moffat, on the 8th line. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Cameron and daughter of the 10th line were recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Smith here. Mr. Malcolm Campbell on the 8th line passed away on Thursday, aftei a few months illness, although he hac not been in good health for somt years, but for the last six months has been very ill. Malcolm was the son of an early Osprey pioneer family who settled on a farm on the 8th line about two miles east of this village. Mrs. Campbell predeceased him a few years ago and this is the third death in the family in the last year. Mal- colm was sixty-five year old and if survived by two brothers and twc sisters, Mrs. McLean of Collingwood and Julia at home; Donald on the 4th ine and Allan at home. He never married. Malcolm was of a quiet disposition, never taking part in an\ public affairs. The funeral was from the home with Rev. F. Dean of thi Gospel Workers church officiating at the house and grave. MARY'S CHURCH, MAXWELL The 69th Anniversary Services ot St. Mary's Anglican church, 'Maxwell were held at 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. last Sunday, June 12th. with splendid at- tendance. Th services were in charge of Rev. Thos. Hicks, whose old horns was neor Hatherton, on the 30th side- road of- Osprey. He is now Rectoi of Wiarton Parish. He ga*e twc splendid and appropriate sermons foi the occasion, which were very much enjoyed and appreciated by all pres- ent. Special music was rendered by the choir and the day was a note- worthy one in the history of the church. Many took opportunity of being present, especially oW friends and organizations of the Hicks family The annual garden party will be held on Thursday, June 16th. Rer. M. Maclvor, from the West, preached two fine sermons on Sun- day in the hall. He is preaching for a call and is a very able speaker. In the evening his subject was, "Why go to church." Next Sabbath Rev. Stephenson, M.A., who at one time worked for the Lord's Day Alliance will preach here. Monday evening a miscellaneous shower is being held for Mr. and Mrs Bill Campbell, who were recently married. Rev. A. Leacock, B.A. is Priceville's new pastor in the 'first draft of pulpit changes at Toronto Conference of the United Church. Rev. A. H. Bartlett of Pricerille has been appointed pastor at Blind River, AJgoma, Rev. A. Lea- cock, B.A., will be the new pastor ot Priceville and Salem churches. Mr. Wm. Nichol took a truck load of Pricevill* and Top Cliff pupils and teachers on Saturday, 45 in all, to Midland. They had a most enjoyable time and a lovely day.
