On Friday evening the ladies of Inistioge put on an Irish tea at Oscai Patterson's. The supper consisted of baked potatoes and Irish stew and baked beans; two kinds of pickles/ buns and biscuits; jello (red an<? green for Irish.) Three kinds of pie tea and buttermilk. The program consisted of Irish songs and recita- tions by Billy Batchelor and Harold Jackson, followed by a mock trial which was very humorous. It was really quite humorous and evidence rather conflicting for Pat tried to prove that she had a maid and twenty dollars a month just for pin money, besides five dollars a day for running expenses, had plenty of clothes (which were on display) fur coats, silk dress- es, etc., while Mrs. Flanagan was at Bridge parties, etc. He had neigh- bors, real estate agents and the maid to prove his statement. But the jury! threw the case out as they could not believe that Mrs. O'Flanagan and! Pat lived only on small potatoes and skimmed milk.
