Service was held at his late home, interment tak- ing place in beautiful Park Lawn Cemetery. Six of his comrades on the Toronto Transportation Commis- sion carried their late member to his last resting place, these being: Messrs. J. Ballantyne, Wm. Jamie-son, \V. Amos. W. Warman, G. Gerring and W. Ross. A large number of the members of the T.T.C. acted as a body guard. Those who attended the funeral from a distance were: his brothers,- Mrs. Geo. White and Mrs. B. White of Ayhner. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jen- kins. John Hamilton and Mr. and Mrs. ' Leslie Morris, all of Hamilton and , Allan White and Ed. Littlejohns of Markdale. I The deceased was in his fiOth year, and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John White, and was born in the Township of Artemesia. He was united in marriage .'t- years go to Miss Jean Conlan of Grand Valley, and resided there for se v enil years | and then moved to Toronto. Be-i sides his sorrowing wife he leaves one, daughter, Edna (Mrs. H. Capatick) of! Toronto. He also leaves four broth- ' eis: James. Exrn and lion of Mark- dale and Edward oi' Los Angeles, Calif. For the past 22 years lie had been employed with the Toronto Railway Co. and the T.T.C. as motorman, but prior to that had learned the trade of J cheese and butter making. He was ;' member of Scott Lodge No. 421, A.F.&A.M.. Grand Vallcv. a repre- sentative of whom attended the funeral. j The casket was harked with n pro- fusion ft' flowers from a host of friends and relatives, among which was a wreath from the T.T.C. em-' ployees, Rorcessvales Division; basket Scott Lodge No. 121. Grand Valley; 1'iisket, T.T.C. Employees' Union No. l.'ill; wreath. Managers A. and P. store. Besides those mentioned there Were 2.'? other sprays and wreaths from relatives and friends. Flesherton and East Grey Fall Fair is to have a change of dates this year and will depart trom the custom of holding the Fair on Thursday and Friday and will hold it on Friday and Saturday, September 18th and 19th A Saturday fair in this district has never been attempted, but should prove of great benefit to the fair. It will allow many more to attend the fair than would otherwise be able to enjoy the attractions at this fine show. A Shclburne cattle buyer purchased a Durham cow which weighed 2,150 pounds. Preston Rink Won The Flesherton Curling Club wound up the playing season last week with a special bonspiel among its mem- bers and resulted in the rink skippec by Mr. E. A. Preston emerging as the champions in some close contest?. The Preston rink, composed of Geo. Johnston lead, Wm. Turney second and Roy Piper as Vice won the final sramo from the Dargavel rink -4 1-7, The latter rink was composed of E. Tremp lead, D. Williams second, Frank Taylor Vice, and Jas. Dargavtl as skip. The curlers have enjoyed a very successful season and look for- ward to the season of 1931-1932 for continuance of the game. READ THE SMALL ADVTS.
